Timing nutrition around training
Pre-ride (2–4 hours before): Consume 1–4 g/kg carbohydrate in a low-fiber, low-fat meal. For key workouts or races, a 3-hour lead time with 3–4 g/kg carbs is optimal. White rice, oatmeal, and bread with jam are standard choices. Avoid anything high in fat or fiber that slows gastric emptying.

Common macro mistakes in cycling
